William Crandall Joins The Allen Group to Lead Kansas City Practice and Development of the New Logistics Park in Gardner, KS

San Diego, CA (March 5, 2007) — The Allen Group, a major developer of industrial and office properties across the United States, has named Kansas City native William F. Crandall, President of Allen Development of Kansas.

In his new position, Crandall will have management responsibility of The Allen Group’s Kansas City office including overseeing the development of the Kansas City Logistics Hub, managing development of Applebee’s new Support Center and Andrews McMeel Universal’s headquarters. In addition, Crandall will lead the local practice and capitalize on other real estate opportunities throughout the entire metropolitan area.

Allen, Chief Executive Officer of The Allen Group.  “With a project of this magnitude, it was imperative that our Company to recruit a local individual with a strong community presence, exceptional experience and a wealth of knowledge about the industry.”

Crandall will also be responsible for working directly with the BNSF Railway Company while also coordinating efforts with local, county and state officials for entitlements and annexation.  The Allen Group will be setting up their Kansas City Operations near the project in Gardner, KS.

Prior to joining The Allen Group, Crandall served as President of Crandall +Company, a real estate consulting firm dedicated to providing project oversight services to institutional and corporate clients.  In a prior role with Zimmer Real Estate Services, Inc., he acted as the Master Developer for Village West, a 400-acre development located within the Kansas City Tourism District; which led the successful negotiation of over 1.5 million square feet of retail development which has resulted in over a half a billion dollars a year in sales; Crandall led the team which completed the management of Sprint World Headquarters Campus, a one billion dollar, four million square foot corporate campus.

Crandall earned a Bachelor degree in Architecture and one in Environmental Design from the University of Kansas, as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.  Additionally, he is a member of the Counselors of Real Estate and currently holds board positions with Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce; and Providence Health System. He also serves on the board of two local civic organizations including the First Tee of Kansas City and Friends of the Zoo.
